Ramadan is a good time for many groups to invite their members for "buka bersama" gathering. "Buka bersama" is breaking fasting together in a certain place. More than eating and drinking after daylight fasting, buka bersama becomes interesting for online communities because it is a special time for all to meet and know each other.
Flickr Jakarta meetup had been organized and done yesterday evening. Fortunately, some of the members I know are culinary photographers as well.
Congratulation, folks, hopefully I can join someday.
Pesta Blogger (Blogger Fiesta), an Indonesian blogger party, will be held next week, Sat. 27 Oct, in Blitz Megaplex Jakarta. I had received an invitation from Chairman of the party, Enda Nasution, replied as "CONFIRMED" and passcode for the party came two days after. Several serious movements had been marked in Indonesia blogosphere, either in quantity or quality enhancement as well. Blogging is nowadays a popular keyword connecting various interests. Individuals, mainstream media, organizations, and even commercial entities are in competition provide blogs to achieve goals, to embrace audience, and to promote into public. Even Vox as a brand comes into Indonesia displayed on many Nokia's advertisings.
In Pesta, first I would love to meet many well-known bloggers vis-a-vis, talk and have fun, and the rest... I will follow commitee of Pesta's plans. Great expectations about bloggins are okay, but still stand on realities are also important. In a large area like Indonesia, it is very difficult to achieve national-wide goals furthermore by grassroot movements like blogger. So, keep going in the first time, and hope it will be able to continue in the next occassions.
Amen...
At the last day of May and the first day of June this year, I celebrate them as "days of social networking." Yes, my own day; so, if coincidentally you have your own, let us join create Social Networking Day. If you do not mind.
Let me start about how that happened. We had a holiday on last Friday. One day before, I noticed several opinions about Facebook, let alone I remembered well this service was mentioned during case in Virginia Tech weeks ago. Obviously, I am "lazy" to join more and more new social networking services. Beside I must create new account, fill several who-am-I pages, and either build new relations or establishing the old ones frequently make me boring.
But hey, I had a short extra time to visit their front page. This short decision – on several cases – moved many minds. From sceptics into optimistic.
In short, it happened. Facebook is too cool to be left. I was in love to several mini-features there: short notes, "offline status", and various mini blocks. My first Facebook friend William Pramana then told me that indeed Facebook had moved their vision into open platform. I saw what he said after seeing tons of mini applications which make this service connects to other Web 2.0 battalions as well.
I myself admit that most wanted service offered by Facebook for me is telling friends my current or latest progress. So they can estimate when or how to deal with me. This is socialize in my current definition – and very important.
Similar steps also happened on Jaiku, a Finland "presence log". Having opened two invitation in my Inbox, I thought this one-liner offline status, collection of very short entries (in term of blogging), is also cool. Entry posted by mobile phone also works well, on that way I can set my "last status" while away from Internet or computer. Better way, I can waste my extra time by posting one-liner. Perl programmers love one-line code, don't they?
And oh, at the last day of May, on Bandung IT society gathering, I was among two friends captured by mobile camera by Lathifah Arief.
Thank you all, folks.

I am invited by Rendy Maulana to come and join Blog Fun Day that will be held tomorrow, 2 Dec., in Sasana Budaya Ganesa, Bandung, Indonesia. Rendy and his start up hosting company, Qwords, joins together with Telkom Speedy, a major ISP for cable connection, and other two sponsors, arrange two days hosting and Internet connection promotion to bloggers around Bandung.
In a sequence after Rendy and Kuncoro, I would like to talk about blog, its atmosphere, and various motivations for audience to join with. I hope it will be done in fun situation and each talks to others.
The promotion itself was done by Rendy in some manners: one of my Yahoo! 360°'s friends greets me for this event. Perhaps she read Rendy's Yahoo! Messenger's status or his blog entry.
See you tomorrow.
